So out here in the Gulf of Mexico on the ship I work on, I had been using my netbook connected to my wall mounted tv to extend my desktop and play movies with VLC.
Having just put Ubuntu 11.04, and not having a net connection... I understand why I can't play any movies or .mp3s or anything until I install some updates.. however.
I connected the cable to extend to my tv and noticed than when I do this, that yes, the desktop extends.. however my desktop bg cmpletely disappears and it's just black. Even when I try and reset the bg, it doesnt apply.
As soon as I disconnect the seperate monitor... my bg comes back and all is normal.
Prior, when XP was on the netbook, there was no similar issue.
Curious if some updates will fix it or if thats gonna be the norm.
