View Full Version : [ubuntu] Dvd Shrink finds no dvd drive

Hi,
I'm fairly new to Ubuntu, but I've trawled the forums for a good few hours and failed to find any solution to this so thought I'd try here.
I've been using Dvd Shrink and K3B to copy dvd's, which was working ok until the latest time I've tried it. Dvd Shrink now opens ok, but then fails to bring up any drive when I try to open a disc.
I'm not sure if this is after I upgraded Ubuntu to the latest version. At first Totem Movie player wouldn't play either, coming up with 'Gstreamer has encountered a source error', but installing the restricted codecs sorted that. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both wine and Dvd Shrink and thrown various suggested command lines at the terminal, but it still finds nothing.

Any ideas?

Failing that, any suggestions of Dvd Shrink alternatives that I can use instead to decrypt and shrink down films ready for writing?

Cheers
