View Full Version : [ubuntu] Unity on FX 5200 [11.04]

Maybe this has been here before, but Unity is not working on my FX 5200 [11.04] Basically it is working, but no icons appear in launcher - it's blank, like icons are invisible. I can click on them.
Today I installed Ubuntu 10.10 and also installed unity and it worked, everything was fine - the icons were in launcher, but everything froze and I had to restart... I've seen a lot of bug reports about this problem, but haven't found a fix for this. It seems like no one is working on the fix.

So I wanted to ask, is there any fix for this problem? Does someone even work on this fix and more important, is this bug fixable?

Currently I use Unity 2D, but that is not what I want. Yes, it's good, no doubt about it, but too bad there's no minimize effects etc. (at least I can't enable them with compiz)

Sorry, if there were any mistakes in my text, English is not my main language.

First, you should stick to the Unity in Natty, because those in Maverick is just a very early version of it.

Then, try the "experimental" driver you will find in "Additional Drivers", it's the 3D-capable version of the "nouveau" driver, quite a lot users seem to have success with those.

Greetings.

I am using Natty, I installed 10.10 just to check it it's working, and I'm already using nouveau drivers.

Here is the picture of the bug:

Really, no one?
