I need gtkmm 3.0 for tutorial

unfortunately i can't compile it.

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GDKMM_CFLAGS
and GDKMM_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.

update
configure: error: Package requirements (giomm-2.4 >= 2.27.93 pangomm-1.4 >= 2.27.1 gtk+-3.0 >= 3.0.0 cairomm-1.0 >= 1.9.2 gdk-pixbuf-2.0 >= 2.22.1) were not met:

No package 'gtk+-3.0' found i try install libgtk package..

finally i compile 'gtkmm-3.0.1' and try compile sample program

./gtk_sample: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkmm-3.0.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

any idea to make it working?

Hello Johnny3k,

I am in the exact same situation! I upgraded from gtkmm2.4 where this example worked



#include <gtkmm.h>
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
Gtk::Main kit(argc, argv);
Gtk::Window window;
Gtk::Main::run(window);
return EXIT_SUCCESS;
}
to gtkmm3.0 where above code gives me the same error as you are getting.
(This error)

./gtk_sample: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkmm-3.0.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ubuntu@ubuntu-machine:~/projects$

Did you find a solution to this? Does anyone know how to solve this? I am very new to this, excuse my noviceness.

Nevermind... sorry for resurrecting this...

If anyone comes across this thread as a search, I fixed this problem by running


$ sudo ldconfig
