ill start. "Drowning Man" by U2, from the album "War" (1983?). Bono puts his soul into this song. the most powerful vocals i think i have ever heard. if i was stranded on a desert island and could bring an ipod with one song, it would be this song. what about you guys?

I don't have one (my music taste is just far too diverse to give a credible answer), but according to my Last.fm (http://www.last.fm/user/Throne777), my most listened to track ever is 'Warflower' by The Mayan Factor.

If you haven't heard of that song (which seems likely; the band is quite obscure), give it a listen:

At this exact moment in time I'm listening to the new Septic Flesh album.

Since I'm a musician, and a very big music fan, there's no way I can pick just one song.

This is what I listen to, though:

Way to few people can actually name a favorite song and most of them would give a different song if you were to ask them a year later.

I listen to way too different music to actually compare and songs and choose one of them (can you compare Ace of Base and Prodigy)

There are too many songs in the world to be able to pick just one. If we are playing the Desert Island discs game I prefer to do it with albums.

In no particular order of preference..

1. Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
2. Metallica - Master of Puppets
3. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
4. Conershop - When I was Born for the Seventh Time
5. Megadeth - Rust in Piece
6. Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
7. The Beatles - Love
8. Beastie Boys - Licence to Ill
9. The Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones Rock & Roll Circus
10. Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers - Greatest Hits

BTW, those Eastern Orthodox images have nothing to do with the content.
For those who don't understand Chinese, here is my translation:
Early morning. I hear reveille.
Old Dante book falls off my hands.
Unfinished verse fades in my mouth.
My spirit flies far away.
This sound, so familiar and alive.
How often I used to hear it
There, where I was quietly growing
To become a man, long time ago.

Having lived around Atlanta, GA all of my life (so far), I used to hear the Allman Brothers at Piedmont Park, in the late 60's & early 70's before that album came out. They would travel up from Macon on Sundays for free concerts.

Lucky - I had to make to do with the Stonehenge festivals. I think I was in junior high school when I first heard what became my favorite song. Pure energy, made me want to bust out moves I didn't realize I could even do. Totally cured me of shyness and got me on my feet.

It was played over a random MTV commercial with video clips of whatever pop stars were popular that year. Forgot the commercial, but never forgot that song.

Only years later at a university dance did I hear that song again. I frantically asked every friend around me, "What song is this?!" Finally one guy answered, "Oh, that's 'Renegade Master.'" ("Renegade Master '98" by Wildchild, Fatboy Slim's Old Skool remix)

What made it sweeter was this was one of the top YouTube results for searching that song:

Various Anime Music Video - Renegade Master (http://youtu.be/5mlw32jNrnY)

Sadly, although I've done a lot of clubbing around the world, I've only heard it played in a dance club exactly once. In Taipei, Taiwan at Club W (a.k.a Club Wax). I was so full-force into dancing to "Renegade Master" that people cleared space around me on the floor and cheered me on. Easily one of my Top 5 nights out of all time.
