Okay, I have read a few other posts and found that people are experiencing a wide range off issues with Unity and the new 11.04 release more specifically. I haven't found one though that addresses the exact problem I'm having, so I'm starting a new thread. In my case, I am able to log on without a problem to 'Ubuntu Classic' however, Unity is touch and go. Sometimes it loads great, other times I get a black error screen that includes the word 'oops' and references an hda intel failure or compiz failure.

I have done complete reinstalls of Natty twice and still have the problem. My Modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file is modified to allow Ubuntu to recognize my internal speakers. Is anyone else having a similar problem. More importantly, has anyone else been able to fix it?
