Try System --> Preferences --> Appearance.

In the theme panel, look for "Get more themes online." Enjoy.

I just updated to Gnome 3. Themes are not well supported, I have some limited success with gnome-tweak-tool.

Try the suggestions in post #1 here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1742343

A good article: http://www.webupd8.org/2011/04/change-gnome-3-gnome-shell-or-classic.html

I read that gdm is an early release, so I think that it's not possible. I cannot help you with gdm, as I am using Gnome 3.

I think that gnome 3 dont feel ready yet so i changed back to unity. Maybe the next release will be more "ready". I come back then :)

I agree that Gnome 3 is not ready (it is not officially supported). After my last post, I had a problem with Gnome 3 (no panels visible after login), so I changed to Xfce. If I have more problems, I'll replace Ubuntu with Fedora.

Well i have a hard time to decide what distro im going to use, this have been going on now for a few years hehe. It stands between Ubuntu, Fedora or Opensuse but i cant make up my mind. I have always been a Kde fan but now i dont know really, gnome has grow on me actually and i feel its faster too. So please help me what should i choose? I cant choose my own distro :o

But i like Ubuntu for its fonts and it feels kind of snappy with my old hardware.
