Hi,
My upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04 did not work properly as I get hung at the "Splash Screen" upon startup.
I used the alternate CD for installation as I have a mix of standard and LVM partitions. I want to do a reinstall but keep as many of my old partitions / mount points as possible. I am a N00bie at trying this as I have never had any upgrade issues. So basically what I would like to do would be something like reinstalling the windows C: partition but keeping all the data on my other partitions so It is available post reinstall. All suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated.
/dev/sda contains the following partitions/mount points:
Standard ext4 partitions
/boot
/ (root)
LVM volume 00 (ext4)
/home
/usr
/usr/local
/opt
/tmp
/var
/swap
/dev/sdb contains the following partitions/mount points:
Standard ext4 partitions
/data
/vbox1 (used to contain my VM's)
LVM Volume 01 (ext4)
/misc
