View Full Version : Eclipse with Pydev: how to stop running application

Hello there,

I've installed Eclipse with Pydev and after playing around for a while i'm starting to get nervous because the interface is so unintuitive for me.

I run a .py file with a gtk.main() loop, there is no button yet to close the application from the GUI. I can't find a way to stop the application from Eclipse either, Ctrl+C in the Console is not helping. How can i stop a running application?

When i close a file or project to open another, the records of errors and warning from the former project remain displayed in the problem tab: how can i clean up these records?

Finally Eclipse tells identifies several errors of "undefined variables from import". But if it were so the program would not be running at all. In fact it points are some gtk.Widget of gtk.gdk functions. Could it simply be that the IDE does not recognise these?

I've read a lot of praise for Eclise and Pydev, but so far i find it too cumbersome. I want to give it a try though. I'd appreciate if you can help.
