Hi,

I installed gnome3 from
https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/gnome3

messed all up, hacked for few hours,
and purged successfully in the end.

But I'd like to redo it.

Could anyone who succeded get an advice?

thanks in advance
lucian

PS: BTW, (after few hacking days) unity is ok(like it) and congrats to ubuntu team.

I think the following works.....It worked for me.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install gnome-session
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
Got it from here (http://askubuntu.com/questions/22946/how-do-i-install-the-latest-version-of-gnome-3)
