Hello,

After installing 11.04 and trying out the new Unity desktop, I can't put any applications on my desktop. I get the following error message.

Error while copying.
There was an error getting information about "/".
The specified location is not supported

Any ideas?

As far as I know, Correct & Normal.

Applicatiion Icons go into a menu bar = That is Unity, right? Happens to me, but I thought the was the way it was supposed to be like. You can create and customise your own and additional Menu Bars... Or go to Classic if you want the old desktop that works that way.

Although, when I screw up (by my fat fingers), it seems to let me drop a file icon on the desktop with no errors. So, I'm not sure how it tells the diffrence... but somehow there is.

Right click the desktop then create launcher, name it then in command use the browse to the (usually) /usr/bin/(the application you want) double click it or hit open it creates the icon as well usually.
