View Full Version : [ubuntu] Lock screen on 11.04

I upgraded to Natty on both my machines. One of them is a bit older, so I found Ubuntu Classic to run better on this machine.

In any case, when trying to lock the screen on Classic (Dell Inspiron 1420), it takes me to the screensaver as usual, but then I cannot go back to the screen after typing in my password. I tried to go to another terminal via Ctrl+Alt+F1 and the screensaver (fieldlines) was still running, even when I tried to kill it via top, kill and pkill (including sudo)
This might be a bug since it's the second time it happens.

Any clue as to what /var/log/ file I should be looking at to report the problem?

Hi,

Same problem. The only way I found to get control on the computer was to force shutdown, implying breaking code running for several hours.
