I was able to install 11.04 on my HP G62 notebook with not a single issue, so I know the D is good. But on my desktop I only only able to run live, as soon as I push install it just thinks. Nothing changes ever.

Any clue?

I also experienced this same problem.

Ubuntu 11.04 x64 installed fine on my laptop (Dell XPS M1210; intel core 2 duo) but the install hangs on the first screen when I try to install on my newer desktop (intel i7-2600K, asus p8p67 deluxe, SSD + HDD, win7 already installed).

I've noticed others with this problem in other threads. If anyone has suggestions (one apparent solution is to install server then desktop, but that is not really a solution) I would be grateful, as I've been a longtime linux user and ubuntu is my distro of choice (the laptop was an upgrade from 10.x series).

thanks!
