The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:AudioRecorderApplet".

It was working fine and then suddenly disappeared from the panel. I re-installed it and got this message again.

Where is it so I can manually launch it?

It seems this specific applet is deprecated in 11.04
Here's the replacement. (https://launchpad.net/~osmoma/+archive/audio-recorder)

I already have that PPA and it says it is installed, but when I click on it from the applications menu, nothing happens.

I see it listed when I click, 'add to panel' this comes up.

Try command line
audio-recordersee what errors it comes up with in addition.
The author has a thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1672679) on compiling the app....which you might try if you have no success with the .deb file. It also has some tips you might follow.

You may want to just PM that kind of stuff......

For the OP: I got nothing.

EDIT: I only posted to say the former sentence.
