I'm able to log into a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.x and all I get is a blank screen with the default wallpaper. I tried right clicking and it popped up a menu for half a second before closing. It's the same with any other menu I try and access.
The menus don't even show up.
I'm using an IOGear switch to link my windows box and this one which is the only thing I can think of to be a valid problem.
