I'm running 10.04 and am quite satisfied with it. Naturally, I get curious and want to upgrade to 10.10....and then 11....it's just fun to upgrade. But, if it works don't mess with it.

What are most people running? 10.04 or 10.10?

If 10.04 is an LTS version then what's the advantage of upgrading to 10.10 which, I think, doesn't have LTS?

What's your opinion about upgrading? Is it something everyone just does anyway as a matter of course?

Sure, 10.10 is fine. 11.04, not so much.

I'm using 10.10 Maverick, liked the overall appearance of 10.04 Karmic more but certain things like the webcam and 3G dongle didn't always work as expected. Upgraded to Maverick and everything is working fine, the appearance is just tweaked.

Not sure about 11.04 Natty though, staying with Maverick for now and will probably check 11.10 later.

If it works, don't fix it. Unless that's your hobby. You won't find much difference going to 10.10, but 11.04 is a big jump. Read some reviews, wait awhile until things settle down and some "issues" get fixed. Don't upgrade in the middle of getting some work out at the office. Chances are it won't result in a smoldering pool of melted silicon....but you never know.

I jumped from 10.04 to 10.10 and then tried to jump to 11.04 this week. I ended up reformatting and back on 10.04. As vandamme said, if it works, don't fix it. There's not enough of a difference to justify the pain. :)

I use 10.04 because I like to stay with Long Term Support versions on my main system.

On my second system I am using 11.04 with Unity.

10.10 is useless for me because XDMCP is broken.
