I was running Ubuntu 10.10 and updated my software. Then I attempted to upgrade to 11.04 on a desktop running only Ubuntu. It will not boot. I have attempted reinstall from a live CD and get a black flash screen headed by: "GNU Grub version 1.99~rc1-13ubuntu 3." Below that are several options but I get nowhere with any. I cannot use command line because it gives me "no such command" when I type sudo xxxx. Help! Thanks. :(
