hi..
i have ubuntu 10.10.. i upgraged the security upgrade and installed a few upgrades .. and now when i restarted .. the command prompt is opening and nothing else..

... i updated the updates using..
sudo apt-get update

and sudo apt- get ugrade

.. few things happenened..
now the problem is the screen shows this msg..

"Your cpu appears to be lacking expected security protection.
please check your BIOS setting or for more informatition run:
/usr/bin/check-bios-nx --verbose.


AND I DID THAT..and the reply was..

THIS cpu is family 6, model 37. and has NX capabilities but is unable to use thiese protective features because the BIOS is Configured to disable the capacity. please enable this in your BIOs

.. AND NOW HOW DO I DO THAT...

i am not able to get back to the ubuntu screen.... what do i do ...and how to get out of the command screen... i have no i dea m badly stuck... please help...

I think you can probably ignore that error, I don't think it's related to the lack of desktop you're experiencing (which we're attempting to solve in this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10774576)
