11.04 Update hang

10.10 -> 11.04 Update hang and fail
I used Update manager to update and the screen froze at the end of the "installing updates" phase with 1 minute remaining, with the last message "Installed liblvm2app2.2"

After a power cycle I get the grub boot menu but after that a blank screen and then nothing

The PC is a triple boot with Windows XP and Slackware. I can still boot into Windows.

It seems that grub messed up badly and lost the partitions. I had /boot on sda2, root on sda5 and swap on sda6

Solved with a clean install

I have the same problem. Upgrade to 11.04 from 10.10 hung on "Installed liblvm2app2.2" under the progress bar. I happened to have the terminal window open and the last thing it says is "Setting up udisks (1.0.2-4ubuntu1) ..." The mouse and keyboard are completely frozen.

I still have this screen up for fear that if I reboot it'll totally crash. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My computer also has a Windows partition...
