ubuntu update via proxy

hi.
how do i update/upgrade ubuntu 11.04 via a proxy address coz am in skul and there is internet access but one must configure the proxy address and a password...pliz someone tell me how to go about it. am new in ubuntu

Hello & welcome to the forums :)

You can set the system-wide proxy under System Settings -> Network Proxy in 11.04. If you're in 10.10 or before, then System -> Preferences -> Network Proxy. I used to use Ubuntu behind a squid proxy, and that's where I set it.
