The 11.04 LiveCD (LiveUSB) "upgrade" option has an explanatory text which seems pretty clear. It will keep the personal files but will erase system wide settings. Well it does not. It wipes clear the user /home leaving just the standard clean install folders. I tested this on two separate netbooks (previous 10.10 plain install on both, no separate /home partition). And yes, I've got the right option ("upgrade"), my development xampp install is still in /opt and it works.
Now, I'm not asking about file recovery options and stuff, nothing bad happened, I'm just puzzled: is this a bug, a feature, a misfortune, what? Has anyone else tried the LiveCD "upgrade" option?
