View Full Version : Can't reformat windows after ubuntu install

I recently had a friend install Ubuntu 10.10 on my Dell Studio 1735 laptop.
I have a partitioned hard drive with windows vista on the c: drive.
Vista messed up (go figure) and I'm trying to reformat that chunk of my HD.

I have the re-installation cd. I get to the boot menu, pick boot from cd, press any key to continue so I do that. It goes through a screen saying windows is loading files, after that finishes it freezes. The first two times it was an all black screen, but I had an oversized pointer that would move around, just nothing to click on. Third time it did the same but instead of black it looked like the Vista start up background.

Any help appreciated.

Edit: While its locked on this screen, I've tried ejecting the CD and putting it back in to see if it will try and do something with it. But it just spits the disk out at me every time.
