Hi All,

I'm currently using Ubuntu 10.10 x64 on a HP Probook 4720s. Works like a charm.

I'm ready to try 11.04 x64 , but unfortunately my laptop refused to boot after the upgrade.
Tried to boot in from a 11.04 x64 live CD and its freezing at the choice if you want to try ubuntu or want to install it. Same thing happens when I try to boot from USB disk.

Both CD and USB are working fine on other machines and the 10.10 x64 CD also works perfectly on my laptop.

Currently I'm back at 10.10 x64, but I want to use 11.04 on my laptop!

Any ideas?

I've tried the same thing with the i386 version of 11.04 and it's still freezing at exactly the same point (choosing to install or try Ubuntu).

Ubuntu 10.10 is still going strong which makes it even more strange that 11.04 won't work on my machine.

Next thing to try is disabling/enabling some BIOS options...

Hello Zasha

I have the same problems. 10:04 x64 runs fine.
But I want to 11:04 x64.

Have you found a solution in the meantime?

Best Regards
Heinz
