View Full Version : [lubuntu] Desktop bg color only = Session crash

Just installed LUbuntu 11.04 to give it a try and I want to do the simplest of all things:

I want to change the background color for the desktop (without using an image for wallpaper). However, when I select to use a color only, no wallpaper, the LUbuntu session immediately appears to crash and I'm logged out, with no settings saved.

I've checked the monitor settings and they appear to be correct. Not sure what's going on here. For the moment, I'm using the workaround of creating a color tile in the paint-style program and setting that to tile, but it's a rather awkward way to change the bg color.

Wondering if LUbuntu 11.04 doesn't like my hardware, as the live boot option never worked - it would only boot to the command line until I did the HD install.

I have the same issue. Rather surprising. After two or three tries of setting the background as a solid color, I ended up with a blank text screen, no terminal access. I had to do a hard poweroff to get my system back.

Any fix ideas? I'm getting sick of this background! :)

Been broke forever. Just use mtpaint to create a Image with the color you want.
