i installed 11.04 a couple of times already, and noticed at the time of installation, if i uncheck the "download updates while installaing" box, i am able to start ubuntu and the desktop looks like 10.10. but after i download the nvidia driver, ubuntu does not start, it freezes while starting up with a message on screen
mountall: Disconnected from Plymouth
same thing happens when i do a Fresh installation of ubuntu 11.04 with "download updates while installation" checked...

so it must be a graphics problem i think. i was able to use ubuntu 10.10, and was pretty stable (it jus had one problem which is, it freezed when i unplugged the A/C power while the WiFi was on, but if i quickly turned it off, worked fine) everything else like swap, hibernation, nvidia driver, worked fine. it even works when i load 11.04 in a live session (though it looks like 10.10), it did not freeze in battery mode.

im new to ubuntu, and i fell in love with it, please help me sort this out.

My laptop details:
Asus K40IE
core2duo 2.1 GHz
2GB ram
nvidia gforce 310M
Dual boot with win7

Thanks in advance.
