View Full Version : [ubuntu] Has Anyone Hacked A Unity Taskbar Together?

I'm persevering and working my way around Unity, I've got my compiz cube working now (I actually use that as a functional feature, rather than just eye-candy - and a lot more than I realised) but my next stumbling block is the lack of taskbar. For me, when I get busy, I've found this is an absolute MUST-have as I can have 4, 5 or 6 windows open on 3 or 4 desktops and I need to be able to see what's open, where at a glance. The launcher bar just doesn't cut this as it seems to show what's open on every workspace, rather than just the one I'm on and I often have the same application open multiple times, especially Firefox when I'm developing and researching several different subjects.

I know this isn't provided by default, but I want to give Unity a chance rather than just going straight back to gnome 2 and I'm guessing someone must have worked out how to do this......
