Unsure if the hardware/laptop forum would be better. Anyway to the subject I have a Asus X51R laptop that haven't been working with ubuntu since somewhere around 9.04.

Naturally I tried once again with 11.04 and not surprisingly did the laptop freeze up completely while on battery and I was forced to do a hard reset to be able to work with the laptop again. Then I tried again but this nice I deactivated acpi and oddly enough did it work, I was able to use the laptop. Even if ubuntu didn't recognize that the laptop was on battery power, guess it was because i deactivated acpi, I also noticed that wireless was not working either.

The question is, if there are any workarounds that make it possible to use acpi. While I used the laptop did I copy all files in /var/log/ there are quite a few so I haven't attached them but can upload any of them if needed. I attached files containing sudo lspci -vv, split in two since a single file would exceed the size limit for .txt files.
