View Full Version : [xubuntu] XFCE 4.8 Screen Saver Issues

In the Power Management settings I have it so the monitor turns off after 15 minutes, but it never turns off. I think the issue is the screen saver. If I disable the screen saver the monitor turns off fine, but when the screen saver is enabled it just stays on the screen saver forever and the monitor never turns off. Any ideas on how to fix this without disabling the screen saver?

EDIT: I am running Xubuntu 11.04.

No one else is having this issue on Xubuntu 11.04?

I have the same problem (xubuntu 11.04). Settings in the Power Manager (Put display to sleep... or Switch off display...) are not working if Xscreensaver is enabled and at least once started. I think this is reported by other users. It has some "PAM security issues..."

The only working workaround is to enable Power Management in Screensaver settings (Advanced tab, Display Power Management) or to disable Xscreensaver.
