Being and old Gnome user and a brand new XFCE user, does anyone know how to disable the Caps Lock key in Xubuntu 11.04? It's rather easy in Gnome and obviously not so easy in XFCE. I've attempted a Google search to no avail so any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

why dont you remap the caps lock to an escape or control key? Do not render a convenient location completely useless

Thanks, I appreciate the link but using the command to disable the caps lock in the post resulted in an error:

xmodmap: unknown command on line commandline:1
xmodmap: unable to open file 'Lock”' for reading
xmodmap: 2 errors encountered, aborting.
Of course I simply may not know what I'm doing using xmodmap (perhaps I have to drop out into a command prompt?). Your suggestion did help solve the problem as I recalled an old app I used to use to do this way back when. I installed 'xkeycaps' and disabled the Caps Lock key from there. I really don't need to remap it to another key at the moment. I tend to disable the Caps Lock key in any OS I use since as a writer who can't touch type to save his old soul the Caps Lock is always getting in the way. I'm always accidentally hitting it in the midst of a sentence and I'll end up typing an entire paragraph in CAPS before I'll realize what happened--again. ](*,)

Thanks for your help. :D
