I thought that the list of repositories shown in Synaptic->Repositories->Other reflected the content on /etc/apt/sources.lst. But mine don't match at all! Some things I've added via SYnaptic don't show up there, but do appear in sources.lst.

Here's what I see:

~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list
# deb cdrom:[Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS _Lucid Lynx_ - Release amd64 (20110211.1)]/ lucid main restricted
# See http://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes for how to upgrade to
# newer versions of the distribution.

Aren't they supposed to be in sync?

P.S. This is in lucid.

Additional repositories may be installed in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

Thanks. But that doesn't explain why things don't show up in Synaptic or Software Sources.
