I often like to have several Firefox windows open at once. I like to get work done, whilst keeping an eye on a sports stream. So my screen layout takes a bit of tweaking to get all the windows aligned with each other. What I am asking is if there is a way to save this layout, preferably the URLs as well, so I don't have to spend 5 minutes moving the windows around to look tidy each time.

Ideally I would have a 2 or 3 monitor setup but I simply don't have the space.

The screenshot attached gives you an idea what I mean.

It would be nice just to have a desktop shortcut that when you run it, loads up all three Firefox windows for me.

Yes, you can do that with Session Manager (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/session-manager/) extension.

The extension allows to save any number of sessions you want, so you can even have several pre-configured set of windows and positions, according to activity.

You might also like Tile Tabs (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tile-tabs/).

anyone know if theres something like this for linux, for any and all windows, not just firefox?

--turns out THATS actually what i was looking for.... more for programing, and web development, etc, where using multiple windows would be verrrry useful to save a workspace for.
