As with many others I just upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04, and found Unity would not start upon rebooting. I get the icons I had on my desktop, but no hint of action by mousing to the left.
I had 7 desktops set in switcher - does Unity pick these up or is this the source of my problems?
also -
The 'best kernel' ...38-pae seems to ignore the drivers for my wifi card.
In order to get 11.04 working I've had to use the ...38 generic kernel and the 'Classic Ubuntu'.
Is there a simple set of things to do to get Unity working?
