blank desktop

dv7 multimedia laptop

when i get past user login screen and get to main screen all i get is the pinkish background. i have to reboot system by shutting unit off at the off switch to get any tools on the background screen desktop. help it is driving me crazy:confused: screen also goes black for a few seconds on first boot up then goes back to dexktop background that is blank:confused:

Create a launcher at your Unity desktop for the command "ccsm" (CompizConfig Settings Manger), launch it and enable the "Ubuntu Unity Plugin", enable "Desktop Cube" before if you want to use it, the same for "Rotate Cube", and check if there are other plugins that you want/need to enable.

After doing that, relogin.
