If this has been posted elsewhere, I apologize; I searched for over half an hour and couldn't find anything.

I installed 11.04 (and am using Unity) and am trying to find out how to either change an icon in the launcher, or fix a missing icon. I put PlayOnLinux on my launcher, but there is no icon showing up for it. I have tried removing and readding, to no avail. It shows up as just a blank spot:

Any help would be much appreciated!

Well, a second reboot fixed it after the computer freaked out and the unity launcher, all menu bars, and the navigation bar disappeared. No idea why, but the icon is now there.

Well, it looks like a bug or multiple bugs in Unity. Working for several hours and I've seen icons come and go. Just now I have Software Center opened but icon is no where to be seen.

Its irritating because I dont know what else may be open without going to sys monitor.

Just searching similar bugs in launchpad but didnt find anything yet.

I am facing the same issue after installing Nitro on Ubuntu 12.04.

I fixed this by running "unity --reset" via Alt+F2.
