Java - slow running

I play the game Minecraft, and ever since I upgraded to 11.04, it lags like crazy. I can play other games that have nothing to do with java, and they work fine. I would like to have no lag like I did before, because I'm getting sick of the lag already. Can someone please help me with this? I know it can't be my graphics card because that works fine with other games like openarena and smc.

By lag do you mean your network access is slow or you're getting slow framerates?

The GAME lags, not my network. It never lagged before so yeah... just since this upgrade it lags on the game.
