Hey all,

I'm just looking around, I'm fairly new to linux but I've caught on quick. I was wondering was the latest cool apps and eye candy things might be out for kde or gnome, i personally prefer KDE because it looks better but i also have gnome on this machine. Any input would be great, if it's a repo package please list the full package name not just the app name please. THANKS

For Gnome Tish themes are realy nive with rounded tops and think there are tow or so with rounded bottoms. They give Gnome a totaly new look.

Anyways you can download them and just drag and drop them into your gnome theme screen.

For KDE there is:
Kompose, which is like Expose from OS X.
Karamba, for desklets that do just about anything.
Yakuake, which is a terminal that rolls down from the top of the screen.
Kooldock, in case Kicker isn't fancy enough.

And of course, the greatest eye candy of all, xgl and compiz. But that requires more patience than just installing a couple programs. :)

Damn, yakuake is really useful. Thanks. :) That would be fun to use for irc.
