I used to have a MIDI composer on Windows which was just a keyboard, a staff, and a ton of instruments, does anyone know of a MIDI composer like this? I've looked at Rosegarden in the repos after several online recommendations, but it has all kinds of things thrown into the mix. I have a netbook, so all the extra features are kind of dead weight to me. They're more destructive than productive. Thanks guys.

I also use LMMS and Tuxguitar to play with Midi.

ardour and audacity are helpful, but when using tuxguitar, make sure you install timidity
