In Windows, you can start and stop services on a remote computer using Netsvc.exe (http://ss64.com/nt/netsvc.html for details).

I have a Windows computer on my network that I'd like to administer remotely from my Ubuntu machine. At the moment I'm using VNC to connect to the Windows machine and using the Services GUI to start and stop services. Ideally however, I'd like a Linux command line utility with the same functionality at Netsvc, so I can create launchers or scripts to start and stop the desired services.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of another way to accomplish this, I'd be interested.

Thanks!
