Would anyone like to win my username? Am I allowed to give it away, even? Do you like it?

I was very surprised noone had registered it!

The problem with your user name is the staggering number of people that don't want it.

I'll have to say that I doubt you can speak for a member base of 1M+ ;)

You make some people rage quit.

I only tease. It's a commentary on the rather vocal outcry of people who dislike Ubuntu 11.04 for one reason or another.

Does this mean I'll be a subject of a certain cheese-based pudding site? Oh joy is me!

Isn't rage a slight over-reaction to a mere OS? People have always groaned about this/that/the-other, with almost every Ubuntu release... then it calms down.

6 months. The folks who are jumping to upgrade normally dump their install when the next best thing comes out.

You may well laugh, but imagine that something occurs which will mean that Ubuntu is no more... that the distro falls flat somehow, goes bankrupt, or becomes abandoned, and then this would have been the last one (unlikely I know, but possible). I'll be laughing at all of these comments, then!

Mark Shuttleworth is a multimillionaire. I highly doubt Canonical would go bankrupt anytime soon.

I doubt it also. Nothing is impossible - millions doesn't mean a lot, you can spend that in a day.

PS: "multi" > 1, which could buy you, ooh, four average UK houses?

you can spend that in a day.

Of course, that is why Mark Shuttleworth spent $20 million to go on a trip into space in 2002.

Well to be fair, he didn't spend it on a day, the space mission itself lasted over a week, and he spent months preparing for it.

But the payment was paid in full in one swift go before he went, so technically it was in one day. lol
