Hi,
I have just tried to update from 10.10 to 11.04 on a Dell Dimension 5000. The installer stopped at "Setting new software channels" and a popup appeared with:
Invalid package information
After your package information was updated the essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' can not be found anymore.
This indicates a serious error, please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bug report.
When I ran 'ubuntu-bug update-manager' it gives the message:
The problem cannot be reported: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package
This is strange. 10.10 was fully up to date and working fine before I started I always use the update manager.
So, is there another way to report the bug?
And does it look as though I have some problems in there somewhere with 10.10 that I need to deal with?
Thanks
