I just wanted to put a positive note here.....

I installed 11.04 yesterday on my 8-yr-old Presario 2170us (1G mem, 160-G HDD) and it works great! My old hardware won't run Unity but otherwise, it's stable and as fast as I can expect on my old laptop. :)

It found all of my hardware and my Linksys card without any trouble.

Great! I have to add to the positive note, because I upgraded my Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat installation to Natty last night. It worked flawlessly on my 3-year old Dell Studio 1735. Even my heavily customised VPN config is working perfectly.

Yes, I wanted a add a positive note too. Congrats to the Ubuntu team!

I upgraded from Maverick Meerkat to Natty last night and it was smooth as silk. It found GRUB, my dodgy printer drivers etc. Now, I have to work out how to use the Unity front end!

How do you boot without Unity?
