Hi,

Just upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04. When I log in after the upgrade I get a message about my computer not having the required hardware to run Unity.

So now I have normal Gnome-destop look - without Compiz.

I was able to run Compiz with different fancy 3d-looking stuff under 10.10, but now I can't find where to enable Compiz. And besides I would also like to have a go at Unity, which I really think, my computer should be able to run.

I have an Intel graphic card in my Medion E6220 laptop. lspci reports:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 12)

Appreciate any help.

Jakob

you can get your previous config if:

- you uninstall (from synaptic): ubuntu-desktop, unity

note: unity-2d should work on your system (but without compiz)

I might try that, I would really like Unity with compiz though. But thanks anyway.

got it working by doing a fresh install, something must have gone wrong with the upgrade process.
