[11.04] Fixing the utility

I was playing around with compiz a few hours ago, and now the utility bars and window borders have all disappeared. I know others have had this problem, and that there was a thread where the issue was solved, yet I didn't understand what the steps were to do it.

I was wondering if there was someone who could help me. I've only been using Linux for a few weeks, so I'm still pretty new (which is another word for "Lost")

I know how to get the terminal up, and I know how to get the compiz manager thing up, but after that I'm lost.

Also, I'm set to sign in automatically, so I can't switch to classic.

Can anyone help?

Not sure what happened, but it's now fixed
Tried using "unity --reset" in the terminal, got a huge list of errors, utility popped up for a moment, then disappeared

then I couldn't enter anything though the keyboard, powered down my machine, and when I turned it on, it was as though nothing had ever went wrong.

It was scary, but glad worked out find in the end
