View Full Version : [ubuntu] ubuntu 11.04 cant detect windows 7 ultimate sp1

i cant install Ubuntu 11.04
because it cant detect my windows 7 sp1
i have 21 GB free (unpartitioned) disk space separately (at 1 TB hard disk that windows 7 installed on it)
i have 3 hard disk (1x500 GB , 2x1 TB)
how can i solved this problem

I installed Ubuntu 10.04 before and I have not this problem
Ubuntu 10.04 easily detect windows 7 and my 3 hard disk

(i removed Ubuntu 10.04 before and Now i want to install 11.04)

Best thing here for you is to start a thread, make a very relevant header, and give a brief but accurate description, and to post the bootscript in my signature so we can see the whole setup.

Post the text from running the script in code tags by opening the thread or a reply here, click on the (#) in the reply panel and paste all the text between the tags.

This thread is a week old but somebody else's, they may return they may not, we are trying to avoid confusion, by having individual threads. The problems may be similar, but the nitty-gritty in the problem and fixes rarely are.

Exactly the same problem here:

Windows 7 x64 SP1 Ultimate
Ubuntu 11.04 x64
1Tb Harddrive.

Installed Windows to a 500gb partition (also creates the 100/200Mb System partition).

Ubuntu 11.04 can't see my windows partition(s) and shows the whole drive as Free Space.

Going to try installing Ubuntu first then Windows 7 and see if that makes a difference.
