I upgrading to natty 11.04 and lost all my gnome applets. :( Is there any good stock programs that work with natty and unity? I liked the invest applet on top bar in maverick 10.10. A standalone program to track stocks would be good also if no applet option is available. Anyone have any suggestions or feedback?

Indeed, I've been searching for a replacement for a while now. Looks like someone will have to convert the gnome invest-applet to appindicator style, or invent something new.

oh, on the "other suggestions" question: I've started using Google Finance. It's quite nice, once you find the portfolios section (and syncs with android phones).

Still, an indicator would be super handy.

You could try the news rss ticker (http://www.newsrssticker.com/) app and load it with stock rss feeds; I don't know :(

Search for it in the software centre, I think it's available there.
