View Full Version : [ubuntu] Upgrade fail 10.10 to 11.04

Hi when i going to upgrade to 11.04 upgrade fail, it fail on installation when was everything installed, now when i start i have only text version of ubuntu, when i use package repair in recovery it doing something but saying error like "Trying to use older version of package" next time i trying sudo apt-get update but there are errors because it cant connect to internet. Thank for help and sorry for my english.

Please download the Natty ISO, and then upgrade using it:

The package servers are swamped with requests right now, and I think you will have a repeat of the same issue unless you use the LiveCD/LivsUSB of Natty to upgrade.

Also - you can load Natty/11.04 and still use the 'Classic’ UI: Natty Info: Your UI options (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1741293)

I dont have upgrade choice in installation menu :( and i cant run ubuntu in classic mode because i cant select mode, i can login only in no gui. Please help me save it, i have there much of settings, programs and some data.

How is he supposed to do that if he doesnt even have a browser or connection?

How can he save his install, or data?

I think i can use sudo apt-get upgrade -f but there is no internet connection in no gui mode probably.
