I am currently using ubuntu 10.04, I tried to upgrade to 10.10 two -three times using update manager.
At the end upgrade process after long time dialog box appears with the title “Could not download the upgrades” , “The upgrade is now aborted. Please check your Internet connection or installation media and try again. All files downloaded so far are kept.” “Failed to fetch http://archive.linux.duke.edu/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux-firmware/linux-firmware_1.38.5_all.deb 404 Not Found”
How to solve this issue
with regards

Have you tried changing your software source?

Open Synaptic Package Manager and click on Settings/Repositories. Then click the dropdown next to "Download from" and select "other". Then click "Select Best Server" and it will find the best repository connection for you.
