View Full Version : [ubuntu] purging gnome and unity packages

Alright Ive been using unity, i enjoyed it at first, but its just not proving to be usable for me (not enough control), Ive installed the kubuntu-desktop package, now how would i go about purging out the old gnome and unity packages from my system, if you guys could help me out with this id be very grateful.

Keeping things installed will not interfere with your system, so there is no rush. Psychocats has good tutorials on how to change the DE, but they haven't updated to 11.04 yet, I think they are waiting for the final release. Keep an eye on the web-page and when they update it, you can remove Gnome.
