I have a Netgear WNDR3700v2 two band router but I can only find the 2.4 GHz signal, not the 5 GHz even when my laptop, a Dell Vostro running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS is right next to the router. The blue 5-G light is on the router indicating that it is indeed broadcasting as well as the green light for the 2.4-G band. As noted I only see the 2.4-G network (laptop card is: 12:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) ); SSIDs, passphrases, everything set to match. Using channel 11 for 2.4-G and channel 36 for 5-G, the one that on the laptop doesn't see.
Encryption set to WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]. Broacast for both enabled.

Any ideas?

Thanks....
