View Full Version : [ubuntu] Font error fix

Hello Friends

I am pure newbie with Ubuntu, can call me virgin. Good riddance from Windows 7. I am no way near to anything related to programming yet I wanted to see this world of freeware.

I have some issues with font which looks like this.. please help fix this

I need help to how should I fix this, could be please suggest good font package and how to install them and where to get them.

Also please let me know where to find all the treasure to make my desktop more funky and how to install them using terminal or if there is easier way.

The general font settings are in "System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Fonts".

Also, if you think that the fonts aren't rendered correctly, click at "Details" at the lower left of those tab, and tinker with those settings a bit.

As for good fonts, personally, I use the "Droid" set, package "ttf-droid", it's in the official repos.

Thanks for reply mate

But I already have droid package and I tried everything from fonts settings but nothing has changed, not sure if it has something to with script or java or flash..... but font error is highly likely which I am not able to figure out..

any other suggestion? also as newly installed ubuntu what are most basic packages required for high graphic performance?
